Simple & Effective Detoxification Methods



Have you been fatigued lately? Have you been feeling sluggish? I’ve been seeing low-level mold that’s been affecting lymphatics, sinuses, parotid, liver and kidneys, which can cause these symptoms. Here are some detoxification tips that are easy and inexpensive, to clear out mold and other pollutants.


Increased Pollution Levels

I had a patient who slept with windows open and around 2:00 AM awoke to notice a horrible smell. She showed a high toxicity level, and we found that she needed to close her windows between midnight and 5:00 AM as this is when the toxic load was high. In checking other people I found the same to be true, whether they were urban or rural.

First and foremost I would advise, for the time being, to not leave your windows open at night to allow these airborne molds and toxins into your home, particularly between midnight and 5:00 AM. Opening your windows in the evening to cool the house, closing them when you go to bed, and opening them when you wake up, greatly reduces the toxins you’re inhaling.

The parotid glands are located on both sides under the jawline. Parotid glands are fist line of defense for immune system. They can secrete up to a half gallon of liquid daily when pollution levels are high.

I have found Peppermint essential oil to be most effective for dealing with these airborne pollutants. Apply the Peppermint oil over the parotid and throat, and inhale. It is also helpful to use a very diluted solution of Pink Salt in water, to gargle with and also to rinse the sinuses, such as with a neti pot.


Hydration’s Role in Detoxification

Proper hydration is essential to supporting the body’s detoxification function. The kidneys are responsible for 50% of the body’s waste elimination. Tea, soda, coffee, fruit juice, and other beverages are treated as food, not water, by the body. Only water hydrates the body.

Proper hydration is about both quality and quantity of the water. For quantity, drink half your weight in ounces daily. For example, if you weight 120 pounds, drink 60 ounces of water daily – this equates to nearly 2 quarts. Here’s a handy calculator you may find helpful:



As for determining the quality of water, I generally find that Trader Joe’s New Zealand water and Whole Foods’ 365 water are good for most people. Costco’s Kirkland water and Palomar water work for a lot of people, but not everybody. Water that’s sourced from an aquifer or a deep well is usually best.

When you’re not sure of the source of drinking water – when dining out, for example – lemon juice helps to neutralize negative effects of the impurities while providing electrolytes. Lime juice will also work. A drop of Peppermint essential oil in a glass of water will also purify it, as this oil is antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral – and also freshens your breath.

You can use kinesiology (“muscle testing”) to evaluate these or other water sources to determine what works best for your body. If you have a copy of “Releasing Emotional Patterns with Essential Oils,” there is a self-help section describing various ways you can use muscle testing alone or with the help of a friend to test you. I also have a separate booklet on these muscle testing techniques.

If you haven’t been properly hydrating, when you begin to do so you may find the body starts retaining fluid. This is temporary and will alleviate once you’ve consistently hydrated long enough for your body to adjust. When you start to properly hydrate, the body holds onto water until it trusts you to keep giving it water, then will let go.


Simple & Effective Ways to Detoxify

Toxins are introduced from a variety of sources, both external and internal. Internal toxins are created as a by-product of cellular metabolism.

The lymphatic system is the primary transport to remove waste from the system. Brain, Lymph and Medulla body types in particular don’t detox well, which is why I recommend organic, chemical-free foods for them in particular.

To help lymphatics move waste:
  • Drink adequate water
  • Eat spicy foods
  • Basic muscle movement, like walking

Skin brushing also helps move lymphatics – before showering, while skin is dry, brush towards the heart beginning with the clavicle, then under the ears towards the throat, then under the arms, the upper chest, abdomen, groin, behind the knees, and the feet.



Exercise that involves full body movement – even as simple as walking, running or swimming – will help to move lymphatics. Movement also activates the immune system – especially for the Lymph, Medulla, Nervous System, and Thymus body types.

Miracle II Soap and Neutralizer used together in a bath will help to eliminate toxins through the skin. These products are both fully organic and non-toxic. Use one ounce (one capful) of each and soak for about 20 minutes. A foot bath will also work. Use 1 teaspoon of the Soap and one of Neutralizer, in hot water for about 20 minutes. If using a deeper bucket (such as a 5 gallon) that goes halfway up the calves, use 2 teaspoons each of Soap and Neutralizer. Generally twice a week is good, but when more toxic, do daily.



I have found KinoTox foot pads to be a very convenient and effective detoxification method. Simply wear them to bed, remove and dispose of them in the morning – they will be brown with removed toxins. You may try 3 nights on followed by 4 nights off. If you have sensitive feet, then use them every other day.


Dietary Detoxification

Beets are an excellent food for detoxifying the liver. These can be raw, juiced, boiled, pickled, beet chips, or grated on salad – any form of beets will work. Asparagus is another excellent liver detoxifier – whether they are fresh, cooked or canned.

A good way to detox is to do a general cleanse. This involves consuming only fruits and vegetables, for 1 – 3 days, 1 – 4 times per month. The optimum cleanse for each body type is different and is found under Sample Cleanse Menu in your Body Type Profile.




Are You a Hypothalamus Body Type?

Hypothalamus Body Types are characterized by extremes, completely immersing themselves in a project or endeavor, then transferring their energy to something else





Women with Hypothalamus body type can range in height from average to very tall, with medium bone structure and shoulders narrower than or relatively even with hips. Their waist is straight-to-defined, and they can be average to long-waisted. They often have long arms and legs, with a long, slender torso. Initial weight gain accrues in the lower abdomen, upper 2/3 thighs, buttocks, upper hips and waist.
Men with Hypothalamus body type can range from average to very tall, with medium to large bone structure. Head may be proportionally small or average. They have a dominant chest with thick, straight torso. Thighs and calves can be thin to average. Shoulders are moderately to markedly broader than hips. Solid musculature in torso. Initial weight gain shows up as solid musculature in entire abdomen, and solid thickening of waist.

A vegetarian diet can provide adequate nutrition for the Hypothalamus body type.

Hypothalamus body types can lose weight by limiting dairy, fried foods, caffeine, and breads with yeast; having protein with fruit for breakfast twice a week; replacing lunch with a mid-afternoon snack; and adhering to time schedules for meals.

The passion of Hypothalamus body types is Challenge, and they are motivated by Fear for Physical Safety.

The Core Emotional Issues for the Hypothalamus body type are Fear, Shame, and Betrayal (fear of).

White Angelica Essential Oil
For Transmuting Shame Into Understanding


Shame is a Core Emotional Issue for the Hypothalamus body type, and no other body type shares this as a Core Emotional Issue. Just as the hypothalamus is a master gland in the body, shame is at the core of many other emotional issues.

Shame is a very deeply seated core emotion that originates with self-judgment. It’s connected to beliefs of right / wrong and good / bad, and how we believe that we are being judged. Shame can show up in co-dependency patterns, when we judge ourselves under a belief that we aren’t “good enough” and don’t deserve better.

Shame transmutes into Understanding with “I learn from all of life’s experiences.” It is through Understanding that we are able to release self-judgment. Apply White Angelica essential oil to the Hypothalamus alarm point, which is between the eyebrows.

Additional emotions associated with White Angelica are: consciousness shifting, crisis, disharmony, greed, loneliness, pathetic, rejection, relentless, resolution, shame, sympathy, and weakness.

White Angelica essential oil increases the aura around the body to bring a delicate sense of strength and protection, creating a feeling of wholeness in the realm of one's own spirituality. White Angelica's frequency neutralizes negative energy and gives a feeling of protection and security. It is a blend of 10 essential oils: Ylang Ylang, Rose, Melissa, Sandalwood, Geranium, Spruce, Myrrh, Hyssop, Bergamot, and Rosewood.

Other uses of White Angelica include:
  • Apply to shoulders, along spine, on crown of head, on wrists, behind ears, base of neck, and on feet
  • White Angelica may be diffused, directly inhaled, or 2-4 drops may be added to bath water
  • To diffuse, put 4-8 drops on cotton ball and locate on vents
  • Add 2 drops to wet cloth and put in clothes dryer
  • Dilute 1:15 with vegetable oil for body massage

To increase the aura around the body and bring a delicate sense of strength and protection, place a few drops of White Angelica in your non-dominant hand, rotate the oil clockwise with a finger or fingers from your dominant hand to activate the oil. Place the oil on the center of your sternum, top of your head and tops of both shoulders, breath and smell the oil.

If you know you are going to be exposed to particularly dark, heavy negative energies, add Black Pepper essential oil to the bottom of each foot
